Dublin’s rising talent, Otherkin released some exciting news today- that their debut album, OK, is finally ready and will be released on 29th September. Alongside the news has come a song from the album, ‘React’. The album will include a couple of past singles and live favourite ‘Ay Ay.
It’s been a busy time to be Otherkin with support slots for other rising band, The Amazons and soon INHEAVEN too. Metallica’s Lars Ulrich gave them a nod on his Beats1 show following their Download show. Between all this they’ve also got festivals all throughout the summer.
The new track, ‘React’ starts big and only gets bigger from the moment frontman Luke Reilly starts howling and chanting down the microphone. They strike the delicate balance between a wall of guitars and a wall of vocals, proving a winning combination.
“OK” was recorded in Ireland with David Prendergast, Jason Boland and the band at the controls. The tracks were mixed in London by Jolyon Thomas, best known for his work with Slaves and Royal Blood. Showing real commitment to their art, singer Luke and drummer Rob both had fresh “OK” tattoos committed to flesh for the album artwork.
Otherkin are a volatile force of nature that have to be seen to be believed. To support the release of the album, Otherkin will be heading out on a mammoth set of tour dates as both special guests of INHEAVEN in the UK and headlining their own gigs in fifteen European countries.
