The Attic Sleepers debut first single ‘Berlin’ from their new album Transit

The Attic Sleepers got their name rather aptly when they spent a period of time living on the roof of a house in Guatemala. Since then they’ve travelled even more and spent an eight month period in Berlin, which is what the song is about in a broader sense. The band explore the theme of escapism in their lyrics, which is important to them as escapism is at the core of who they are as a band. ‘Berlin’ is the first single from the band’s debut album Transit.

The song opens with enchanting, dreamy vocals that then open out into a soft bubbling earworm guitar riff. As the song builds it becomes evident how The Attic Sleepers make a unique atmosphere by layering light sounds to create an ethereal quality to the song. The band have drawn comparison to the likes of Fleet Foxes and Sigur Ros, neither of which are far off with their own brands of dreamy indie music running a lot of parallels to The Attic Sleepers.
