The Pale White take us to Pink Lane for their newest single ‘Downer’

the pale white

The Pale White are a cornerstone of the Newcastle music scene at the minute, championing it round the country with support slots on The Amazons and Twin Atlantic and even The Libertines in their stopping ground, not to mention a slot at Glastonbury and another one at Reading and Leeds this weekend. What better way to celebrate all this success with a belter of a new song and news of an EP?

‘Downer’ is just the kind of anthemic rock you’d expect from The Pale White with mentions of toon favourites Gotham, trebs and of course, Deano. The hook vigorous, it requires action and by the time the chorus comes around Jack Hope’ll bouncing to his slick beats. The other Hope brother brings the heat with his vocals, even with some sillier lines like ‘I’ll move to Notre Dame, cause I’ve got a hunch’ he still has a real energy in him.

Give ‘Downer’ a listen here, pre-order their self titled EP here and if you’re in the area catch them on the BBC Introducing Stage at Leeds on Friday and Reading on Sunday. Oh and don’t forget to check out the interview we did with The Pale White back in May here.
