Life is weird, at best it’s unpredictable but you can’t help but just go with it. Since September I’ve been pursuing what I thought was my dream job, to be a journalist. After a full year of retail work I took the next scary step, moved out and began university. In the three and a half short months since I moved out I’ve learned more about myself than I think I did the in the nineteen years leading up to that.
While I have definitely learned about myself I can safely say that I have learned absolutely nothing else. I’ve had weeks where I attempt to work seventy hours around uni, I’ve tried to balance the problems at home with uni, which is still battling the countless hours at work, and I’ve attempted to maintain friendships at the same time. I know what you’re thinking, you’re wondering how I do it. The simple answer is that I don’t and certain things get cut out, Peanut Mixtape first and foremost.
So where does this leave me? In a battle to get my life back. Balance is key, equally it will have to come in baby steps as I gradually fill my time with the things that I want to do. In 2018 the plan is to focus on uni and Peanut Mixtape more. The plan was never to let Peanut Mixtape crumble the way it has but out of the ashes hopefully it’ll return to form with a little bit of TLC.
For all those who used to read, don’t give up on me just yet. Much like Gary Barlow, I need a little patience. Who knows maybe 2018 could be the year of the peanut.
