George Ezra has come back following summer release ‘Don’t Matter Now’. The second single ‘Paradise’ comes with news of his sophomore album Staying at Tamara’s. The album title comes from when Ezra spend time travelling, and stayed at an apartment in Barcelona owned by a woman called Tamara. He lived among , other musicians, fashion students, and various creatives in Barcelona that gave him a notepad full of stories that would become songs.
‘Paradise’ is dedicated to Ezra’s girlfriend and comes from the feelings of an early relationship. The full album is about escapism and taking yourself away from a world of 24 hour news and ever breaking headlines. If the album is about escapism, then ‘Paradise’ is the perfect love song version of the dream, the musician explains.
The song is breezy jaunt through a summer scene, so a January release is a little odd considering the tune would’ve gone down a treat with ‘Don’t Matter Now’ last summer. That being said, there’s something hopeful about listening to a summer song in the winter, there’s a promise of better days to come.
The new album Staying at Tamara’s is due out 23rd March with a UK and Europe tour recently having been announced too, go listen to Paradise here.
