East London’s finest, The Bloom, return for new single ‘The River’. Having originally formed in Australia in 2014, the band have come a long way since then. The track follows 2017’s In The Sky EP which included single ‘For Your Love’ which you can read our review of here.
‘The River’ takes a bittersweet, heartfelt journey not unlike something you’d hear from early Coldplay with lyrics like Kings of Leon. The Bloom deliver four minutes if concise, melancholic indie music. The guitars here are bold, almost intuitive, the confidence is gripping.
The songwriting and the craftsmanship displayed in this song is that of a band far beyond the Bloom’s acclaim. With 2018 off to a good start, fingers crossed for bigger and better things for The Bloom to make it their year.
