After the biggest year of their career, Nothing but Thieves are ending on a high with a new EP. What Did You Think When You Made Me Think Way hits as the band make their way around South America and Europe for the final legs of the Broken Machine tour.
New single ‘Forever and Ever More’ is a rockier song, the guitars are thrashing, James Price smashes the drums like they’re going out of style and naturally Phil Blake gives the bass everything he has, giving the guitars depth to play against. As we’ve seen from Broken Machine there’s a good chance that this is one of the safest, most guitar driven track from the EP, the more experimental tracks will come later.
The track is extravagant and a far reach from their reserved, quiet debut album. The riffs are massive, but nothing one thing that’s never changed in Nothing but Thieves careers is that Conor’s voice still effortlessly cuts through the layers of sound no matter what track.
What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way? will also feature a deep cut that was forgotten from their first album, the track is called ‘Gods’ and will perhaps be a throwback to Nothing but Thieves era or maybe like Fall Out Boy’s Lake Effect Kid it’ll be a re-working of older music to sound more like newer stuff.
