song review

Holly Rees’ beautiful single ‘Stick Around’

Holly Rees, what a singer. Before her big adventure to Canada in 2019, Holly Rees has released a new single ‘Stick Around’. It’s about learning to live with the shitty things in this world and just stick around. It’s an apt leaving gift to her fans in the UK. She’s also left a bonus track, ‘Back of my Hand’ live, what a sweetheart she is.

From the opening notes the song is absolutely beautiful. Holly’s voice is so warm and honey sweet that it just feels like home. She mentioned in the interview that she did with us (read here) that she wanted a song of her own to go onto her ‘Healing Tunes’ playlist and this hits that spot perfectly. This song is bloody lovely, the most uplifting cry I’ve ever had. 10/10 would recommend.

On the single she says: “I have a lot of friends that I just wanted to say “Hey just stick around” and that it’s gonna get better. It’s kind of a song about that, the idea that you might be in a shitty place now but just stick around because there’s so much more out there to do and see and experience, that’s what the song’s about.”
