Skinny Living release live rendition of ‘I Still Love You’

Indie-soul outfit Skinny Living lay bare the fragility of feeling on their latest single ‘I Still Love You’. Front man Ryan Johnston explains: “This song is nothing more than a love song, it was first written with the intent to say “I love you” but through the process of writing, it became a song reaching out through the pain and challenges of a testing relationship to attempt to put into words unconditional love.

It shows a want for a moment of peace within the madness, a need for recognition that neither are getting any younger and a request to put the past aside. Not to forget it but to forgive it and attempt to restore some of the passion lost by dark times.”

The tender hum and pensive plucking of guitar strings beset the passions of Johnston’s vocals. It rings with a clarity that recalls James Bay’s more vulnerable moments, straddling the boundary between gentle devotion and fervency fit for a ballad such as ‘I Still Love You’. The band have an unshakeable acoustic identity that melds beautifully with their sensitivity. To wear your heart on your sleeve might be seem as a criticism, but for Skinny Living, it’s their finest asset.

The band have an eleven-date UK headline tour on the horizon for March 2019, all the way from King Tut’s in Glasgow to London’s Omeara, and everywhere in between. Take yourself to see something special at www.SkinnyLivingUK.com.
