Bare Roots’ stomping new single ‘Away Too Long’

Bare Roots release their sophomore single ‘Away Too Long’ today, with a sold out headline show in Newcastle awaiting them tonight and another sold out show at Stockton Calling tomorrow.

The single is a heartbreak tune and a homage to the classic massive rock songs frontman Anthony Francis says: ““The track was influenced by those big nostalgic rock songs. Tracks such as ‘Go Your Own Way’ by Fleetwood Mac and ‘Hold Back The River’ by James Bay spring to mind.”

Adding that “although we’ve only recently launched as a band, we have a lot of material already written and recorded. We’ve had ‘Away Too Long’ for a while now and we’re excited to put it out there.”

From the opening notes you’re lured into a false sense of security before the guitar come crashing in to make the song the beast that it is. There’s clear roots in bands such as The Wonder Years and The Story So Far.

Listen to ‘Away Too Long’ right here and be sure to check out Bare Roots at either Stockton Calling or Hit the North.
